Installation of Bishop Peter Joseph Hundt
The installation ceremony took place before a full congregation at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer and of the Immaculate Conception on Mount Bernard Avenue, Corner Brook on Wednesday, April 13 at 7pm.
As a part of the installation ceremony, greetings were extended to Bishop Hundt by the following: Archbishop Pedro Lopez Quintana representing the Holy Father, Marlene Farrell, representing the Aboriginal peoples of the diocese, Frank Saville, representing the laity, Sister Sharon Fagan, PBVM, representing the religious congregations of women, and Msgr. Edwin Gale representing the priests of the diocese.
A reception was held immediately after the installation to allow the people of the diocese an opportunity to meet and wellcome their new bishop.
Bishop Peter Joseph Hundt is the second bishop of the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador. The Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador, created in 2006, united the former diocese of St. George's with the Labrador portion of the former Labrador City-Schefferville diocese.
