Diocesan Seminarian

This September, Andrew Henry White will be continuing his studies as a seminarian of the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador.  Andrew was born in Pasadena in 1982 and was baptized in Holy Rosary Parish.  He received a B. A. and a B.Ed. from Memorial University and subsequently spent three years teaching high school in Ontario.  He has also worked as a plasterer, and frequently gives thanks to St. Blaise, patron saint of plasterers, for allowing him to find employment in this field.  Andrew entered St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario, in 2008, where he is studying for a Masters degree in Divinity.  God willing, he will be ordained a transitional deacon in 2015 and ordained as a priest about one year later. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys, among other things, playing guitar and playing left wing for the Seminary hockey team.  He says that “his heart is guided by love of Jesus Christ, His Blessed Mother, the Church and the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.”  This proud son of Newfoundland expects to spend his life serving the needs of the people of his province and his diocese.  He is impressed by the generosity of the people of  the Diocese and remembers and prays for his benefactors daily.
