Conflict and Persecution in our World Today

Three Canadian Catholic agencies are fundraising for the suffering people of the Middle East:  the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (D and P); CNEWA Canada and Aid to the Church in Need – Canada. Also, it is important that we support and encourage our Government and our individual Members of Parliament in providing Canadian emergency assistance and reconstruction assistance; in making it easier for our country to accept refugees; in participating in international efforts to foster justice and peace and in working diplomatically in insisting on respect of freedom of conscience, religion and the rights of minorities.

Further information on the situation in the Middle East is regularly provided by Caritas International, which is the Church’s international network of more than 160 national Catholic charities, serving poor people of all faiths all over the world.
