Congratulations Deacon White

Congratulations to Andrew White upon being ordained to the transitional diaconate on Sunday, June 7th, 2015. Deacon White was born in Pasadena in 1982 and was baptized in Holy Rosary Parish. He received a B. A. and a B.Ed. from Memorial University and subsequently spent three years teaching high school in Ontario.

His journey to theological studies began in Pasadena when he was encouraged while in his teens to consider a vocation to the priesthood.   The newly ordained Deacon says, “…it wasn’t anything I considered with any kind of seriousness until I was about twenty”. While on vacation in NL Deacon White was again encouraged to consider the priesthood and entered St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario, in 2008 to pursue studies for a Masters Degree in Divinity.

He has recently completed his Spring Semester of theological studies and on Wednesday, May 13th began a time of residence and ministry in the Cathedral Parish.  In January 2016 he is to return to the Seminary for his final semester of theological studies.

Please join in prayer for Deacon White as he continues his ministry to the people of the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador.  The newly ordained deacon asks that we also pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.
