Father Hynes Retires

On Tuesday June 30, 2015 Father Ambrose Hynes will officially retire from full-time pastoral ministry.  Ordained to the Priesthood on May 15, 1974, for 41 years Father Hynes has served in ministry in parishes in this diocese.

Since 2005 Father Hynes has served as Associate Pastor of the Cathedral Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer and of the Immaculate Conception and assisted in providing ministry to the parishioners of All Hallows Parish and St. Brendan’s Mission.

Born and raised in Port au Choix, Father Hynes is planning to return to that area to live in retirement in Port Saunders.  In his letter to Father Hynes regarding his upcoming retirement, Bishop Hundt thanked him for his generous service to the people of the diocese and prayed that God would bless him in retirement with good health, much happiness and lasting joy.
