The Co-responsibility of the Lay Faithful in the Church and the World

In the second section, The Laity in the Church and in the World, this is said: “For this reason, our responsibility is indeed a co-responsibility. We live it not only by cooperating with others, but with the deep consciousness that each baptized person, no matter the state of life, enjoys a weighty responsibility for the life of the Church.”

The document goes on to speak of the dangers of clericalism, the promotion of the lay vocation and where “all the members of the Body of Christ take up together the responsibility of bringing Christ, the only Saviour, to the world, in a spirit of family, friendship, and communion.”
